TOMAAS

TOMAAS

High fashion photographer TOMAAS has put the finishing touches on another edgy and exciting editorial called “Angel Of Darkness”. The story was shot in NYC and published in the latest edition of Disfunkshion magazine. Think of the smoldering sexiness of dark denim, with an aesthetic that recalls the rock-and-roll edginess of the 1950s. He uses up-to-the-minute techniques to convey a sense of gravity-defying vitality, one that always looks toward the future. TOMAAS has made a splash with his editorials in the past, whether they took on a feel of rarefied, old-world glamour, or used whimsical and histrionic set pieces.

Twelfth Man - Sport City London

Twelfth Man - Sport City London

Matt Cottis and Dylan Collard have been working on a new project, and got in touch with us to tell us more. Matt says, “We started this self initiated early this year and we’ve had some great experiences meeting a broad range of people from all over the world who are connected by their love of sport - whatever it may be.”

“With the diverse backdrop of London’s many boroughs we’ve seen a stark contrast from the last remaining Cricket Club in Lambeth who play there games surrounded by the tower blocks of the Brandon Estate in Kennington, to the Barristers, Tri-athletes et al who turn out at the Serpentine every Saturday morning for a dip in the beautiful lake - just make sure you don’t swallow the water… This project is ongoing and we hope to continue photographing the interesting characters and venues that make up London’s diverse sporting communities.”

Xenz

Xenz

British spray can artist, Xenz is famed for his beautiful landscapes depicting the natural world. Known as the ‘Monet of Graffiti’, the artist demonstrates an almost eidetic ability, so extraordinary is the cohesion between his mind, memory and spray can. His innovations in the study of aerosol art allow this influential artist to walk up to a wall or canvas and paint an epic landscape from his imagination. He recently released a new collection of original works on canvas, paper, and discarded objects found on streets of London.

Scotia / Copenhagen Climate Conference

Scotia / Copenhagen Climate Conference

Sometimes design is just downright clever and drop dead gorgeous, like this. Here are a few shots of brand-new solar street light that actually generates more power than it needs.

Scotia has put its solar-powered outdoor lighting columns under the scrutiny of some of the world’s leading environmentalists at the Copenhagen Climate Conference, to demonstrate the feasibility of emissions-free lighting even at northern latitudes. The project was conceived to support the Bella Center in its efforts to reduce its carbon footprint in the run up to the UN climate conference, held in Copenhagen December 2009. The goal was to provide Scandinavia’s largest conference centre with an attractive, well-lit outdoor environment – but without contributing any carbon emissions.
