Diesel Wall Art Contest
April 21, 2008
I’ve been meaning to post this for ages…. but here is another possible outlet for your creative juices brought to you by those lovely people at Diesel.
“FOUR NEW DIESEL WALLS IN NY, MANCHESTER, BARCELONA & ZURICH TAKE OVER THESE SPACES. THESE WALLS ARE YOURS
Launching on March 3rd, the 5th edition of the Diesel Wall art contest continues its tour around the world and reaches 4 new corners of the planet: Manchester (UK), Barcelona (Spain), Zurich (Switzerland) and NY (US).
From March 3rd until July 11th ‘08, any creative, inspired person from any country in the world can apply online www.dieselwall.com and submit his/her designs for the chance to feature in this new edition of the project…and conquer a Wall! The artists will have total freedom in sending concepts: art is above all a means of unconstrained self-expression.
With this philosophy, Diesel created Diesel Wall 5 years ago, a competition dedicated to everyone, anywhere, offering the opportunity to change the urban landscape by showcasing art works on an extraordinary scale on monumental, freestanding vertical walls in the centres of world’s most important cities. The ultimate goal being to salvage what prominent precious public space is left.
Diesel Wall will take your art. Your power of dissuasion. Your ability to disrupt, incite and excite. Inspire and intrigue. Mystify and comment. Make beautiful and real. Make people think again. Artworks - conceived for a specific Wall or for all four Walls - can use painting, photography, video, performance, light, sound, text, experimental concepts including 3D, performance and show elements are also welcome.”
