All three boardrooms and a lounge are executed in an overall design concept. Large round lampshades, spray painted gold on the inside, seem to cast light and shadow oval marks throughout the whole space. By this, a playful pattern of golden ovals contrasts with the angular cabinets and desks, which are executed in black stained ash wood. In the flooring the oval shaped forms continue by using light and dark grey carpet. Also, these ovals define the separate working areas.
The lounge area has, in combination with the white marble flooring these same light/shadow patterns that cover the bar and benches in silver fabrics. This area can be used for presentations or social working, with an integrated flat screen in the bar and data connections in all pieces of furniture. The existing space is set in a 17th century historic building, at one of the most famous canals of Amsterdam called ‘de gouden bocht’. All existing ornaments and details are painted white.

With previous seed packaging, distributing the seeds evenly from the pack was very hard. By using the corrugated structure the seeds are held in thin rows, which are the perfect ‘v’ shape to allow them to be very easily and controllably shaken out. It can be tedious and boring laying out rows of seeds whilst trying to maintain equal spacing. The new measuring tape style, which the DIY savvy customer can easily relate, makes it much quicker and easier. The tape, with its embedded seeds, has 10 cm markers on it, making it easy to simply pull out the desired length, tear it off and lay it in the ground.
John Crozier picks up the story for us, “The rejuvenation of the Curious Collection, our most creative range of papers, really sets the trends in colour and texture. In order to ensure that this range was leading the field Arjowiggins hired trend forecaster Li Edelkoort, named by Times magazine as one of the fashion industry’s 25 most influential specialists, to advise them on the colours and textures that were included. Gregoire Alexandre, a French fashion photographer was also enlisted to compose a set of photographs that would tell the story of the Curious Collection. The result was a series of images which tell the show of a girl exploring different paper worlds. The shots all use paper from the Curious Collection as a fundamental part of the set.”
