Ben Prescott // World Cup wallchart 2010

Ben Prescott

This World Cup wallchart is so nice, we got two posts about it in the inbox. Ben Prescott designed this excellent wallchart for this summers festival of football in South Africa, that you fill in yourself as the tournament progresses. Ben tells us, “The chart features a bespoke ‘Subbuteo’ scoreboard typeface as well which I have drawn up based on original sources. They are available to buy on my site and on Counter Objects and are a limited edition of 500, printed one colour onto 5 different coloured 100gsm stock, 100 of each colour.”

World Cup calendar poster

World Cup calendar poster

David Watson from Trebleseven emailed us over his Soccer Aid World Cup poster. Check it out over on Creative Review. David says, “I’ve created the poster to support Soccer Aid,” Watson tells us. The idea is simple: sales of the A1 double sided poster raises money for Soccer Aid - a British charity event which raises money for UNICEF.” The front side of the poster (below) lists all the groups, A-H so you can clearly see which countries are in which group. A calendar runs down the right hand side listing chronologically all the matches to be played in the tournament. The reverse of the poster (below) functions as a bold World Cup calendar - showing clearly what games are being played on each day.

Johannes Breyer

Born in Erlangen (Germany), Johannes Breyer soon got into a profound relationship with typography and graphic design of every description of appearance and practice, especially printed matter and book design. Breyer is fascinated by the power and use of graphical tools such as space, form, image, text, word, and type in their alternating play and necessity; the challenge to consider the diversity of aspects and visual methods in work and to keep cultural tasks relevant.
