howies present the second annual series of ‘Do Lectures’ hosted at Cardigan Bay, West Wales on the 3rd to the 7th of September 2009. To celebrate this year’s lectures, howies have commissioned a commemorative T-shirt equally as bright and positive as the event. Inspired by Welsh author Roald Dahl’s children’s classic ‘Charlie and the Chocolate factory’, howies have sewn a valuable golden ticket inside one ‘Do Lectures’ T-shirt. This means that one lucky Charlie Bucket will receive a prize event ticket, valued at £1000; with their ‘Do Lecture’ T-shirt. So be lucky.
The T-shirts are sold at £15 which means they are sold at no profit. The ‘Do Lectures’ logo has been printed on howies ethically sourced and 100% organic cotton T-shirts with a back print listing the 2009 events inspirational speakers. T-shirts are available to purchase from www.howies.co.uk. For further information or to purchase a ‘Do Lectures’ ticket, visit www.dolectures.co.uk
Seb Lester has a solo show of original art and limited edition prints in Newcastle on Thursday. Seb dropped us a line to tell us about it, and this is from the press release..
“The Electrik Sheep Gallery, Newcastle will be showing a full body of work from Seb Lester this August including a number of new limited edition prints and originals exclusive to Electrik Sheep. These will complement a selection of his well known back catalogue of work which documents his recent foray into the world of art.”
Also, check out this video which shows off one of the prints.
“We were approached by the product development team at Tate Modern who wanted to showcase the type of work we’ve been doing through our shirts and books at Concrete Hermit” explains Director Chris Knight. “It’s a fantastic opportunity for us to bring the work of these artists to a wider audience. Hopefully the project will reward the Tate’s willingness to engage with contemporary illustration and design and be the first of many collaborations.”
Following on from Synth Eastwood’s packed HomeMade Show in May, all of the submissions and performances are now uploaded and ready for action.
