Kimm Saatvedt

Kimm Saatvedt’s brilliant portfolio has cropped up in a number of places of late, and it’s easy to see why he is getting so much attention. His new site displays his photos in a large format, taking up the entire browser window, combined with a simple, elegant and unobtrusive interface.

It’d be nice to see another way of browsing his collection than one-by-one, especially with over 100 photos (and a 10-second-per-image load time) in his gallery. However, his collection is so good, it was an enjoyable half-hour browse. The juxtaposition of some of his photos on the same screen is done in such a way that is both thoughtful and challenging, and each photo takes on a slightly different meaning as a result.
