Build Launch New Blog

Build Blog

Although this is/will be on every single design blog/site on the planet, I’m posting about Build’s new blog for three reasons.

Firstly, it will offer an invaluable insight into the design process from one of the industry’s leading professional agencies. Secondly, it has a competition to win a chuffing fine poster (pictured above - I really want one), and thirdly it has the most marvellous picture of two cats on it, which I implore you to look at.

Ecofont

Ecofont

“After Dutch holey cheese, there now is a Dutch font with holes as well.” What looks at first glance to be an april fool, Ecofont is in fact an ingenious idea from SPRANQ to create a font that uses 20% less ink than a standard font. It’s free to download and free to use from here » Thanks to Vic for the link.

foneGloo

foneGloo

Our mate Vic down at Sell!Sell! let us know about a new project he’s been working on for O2. Vic tells us, “It’s a mischievous campaign where we invented a fake product called FoneGloo, which is a kind of gloop to stick your mobile phone to your face so you don’t lose it.”

“We designed a dodgy logo, packaging and website for it, and made a fake infomercial, and phone line. It was really fun to do.” Find out more here »

NameFlake

NameFlake

David Hunter took a novel approach to making his christmas cards this year; he generated his own designs using a tidy little app he built. He tells us, “[NameFlake] generates typographic snowflakes from inputted text. I made it using Processing, an open source language for creating graphics, animations, interactions and just about anything else.”
