A Celebration Of June Poster Collective

8th - 12th July / 10am - 8pm

London College of Communication

Elephant & Castle
London SE1 6SB
Free Admission

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to our upcoming exhibition; A Celebration of June / 8th - 12th July, hosted by London College of Communication and curated by 3 current students of the university.

The exhibition displays 30 A1 posters produced by 30 creative individuals from throughout Europe, each offering their own interpretation of a day in June. As a collective the posters present a unique insight into the month of June, covering a variety of creative disciplines and providing a range of personalised approaches.

With 365 days in a year it has become an effort to fully understand the context of one single day in our own calendar. We often fail to recognise the true significance of events in our day and the impact it has on our lives.

The intention of the poster collective is to offer an identity to every single day in June, producing a poster display that presents a wealth of information about the days involved and finding something unique with each day of the month. The exhibition offers a great insight into the period of June, presenting personal interpretations from both Artists and Designers.

Cardboard

Remember this initiative by those enterprising fellows at Salford Uni to raise funds for their end of year show? Well, they’ve been in touch to say how successful it has been and that they still have quality posters for sale.

Cardboard [is] a student run online shop, selling both high profile designers and near graduate designers posters. We’ve had a load more submissions, and the whole scheme sold more posters than we imagined. There’s over 32 designs to choose from, including submissions from the likes of Si Scott, NEW Studio, Lee Ford and Peter Arkle. And all profits go towards Salford universities graduate showcase.”

Fancy designing a poster for those chaps to sell? Well, the shop is still open to submissions, sent to gareth.lives [at]gmail.com.
