Season’s Greetings from M&C Saatchi

Season's Greetings from M&C Saatchi

Nick and Paloma dropped us a line to tell us about the M&C Saatchi Christmas Card they’ve just completed. It’s a cracking little video with a great motive behind it (I won’t spoil it for you), so give two minutes to watch it if you can.

Stable Wires Pin

Stable Wires

What’s this? Mauro at Unconfessionable Ideas has released a new pin entitled Stable Wires. Mauro says, “..a stable relationship between peripheral and central processing unit becomes a metaphor to a lifestyle. Autonomous, yet related individuals, only a short cable away, yet far enough!” Nice!

Dino by Lincoln Kayiwa

Dino

We’ve been informed of another lovely piece of design from the previously featured Lincoln Kayiwa, this time in the form of a clothes rack called the Dino. Needless to say, we want one! Here’s part of the official press release…

“Just when you thought that clothes racks are forever to stay mundane, KAYIWA excavates the DINO.

This clothes rack complements your foyer, boutique, lounge, cloakroom or wardrobe. DINO is aesthetic and fully functional for coats and jackets or adults and children owing to the differently sized hangers.

For public places, coat checking is easier and neat with the numbered hangers. In addition, the cartilage and ample space reduce friction and allow the independent movement of the hanger(s).”

Everything is OK

Everything is OK

Chris Simmons alerted us to Everything is OK, a project which began in a design studio. Directly off the site is this explanation of the project, “Faced with the mounting inequities in our world and culture, we set out to assemble a list of resources that would point people toward positive action. We launched a simple website (everythingisok.com) as a means of sharing these links. To promote the site, we created barricade tape with the incongruous message “everything is ok.”

“Today, Everything is OK exists as a kind of social design experiment in subversive positivism. It explores the relationship between medium and message, challenges accepted modes of communication, and provides everyday citizens with tools for social commentary.”
